Playing Cherry Sangria


  • 2 plums, pitted and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cherries, pitted
  • 6 to 8 basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup Kirschwasser or any cherry brandy
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 bottle red wine, such as Petite Syrah or Nero d'Avola


Serves: 1 pitcher


In a large pitcher, muddle plums, cherries and basil with the Kirschwasser to release some of their juices. Add in oranges and wine. Stir to combine.

Serve in glasses over ice.
