Spanish Tapas: Chapata

Serves Serves 4 as a snack
1 loaf crusty bread, split in half lengthwise
2 to 3 large cloves garlic, halved
2 small ripe tomatoes, halved
Salt and pepper
EVOO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, for liberal drizzling

Preheat broiler.

Pop the bread under the broiler, cut side up, until golden brown and toasted. Rub the toasted bread with the cut garlic and the ripe tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, cut into portions and drizzle with EVOO.
