• 1/2 8-ounce block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Serves: enough to frost 1 cake or 16 eclairs


In a mixing bowl with a hand mixer or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat together the cream cheese and butter on medium speed until smooth and fluffy, 2-3 minutes.

Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the confectioners sugar and cocoa powder until incorporated and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
