Chili powder and tequila give this easy gravy a south-of-the-border kick.
5 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1 palmful ground ancho chili powder
2 shots of tequila
Juice of 1 lime
1 quart turkey stock
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and chili powder. Add tequila and lime juice, and let it cook out, about one minute. Whisk in stock. Raise heat a bit and thicken gravy to lightly coat spoon.
