Having friends and family over to toast the New Year? Read on for 7 festive appetizers to pair with your bubbly.
No. 1: Baked Ricotta with Pistachios
This cheese-ball-like snack is made by mixing ricotta, parmesan and pistachios with herbs and flavorings, then baking. Top with roasted grapes or tomatoes before serving.
Watch how to make it in the video above!
No. 2: Veal and Sage Meatballs with Gorgonzola
This is a perfect bite-sized party bite served with toothpicks. Rachael uses Gorgonzola Dolce, a sweet, mild blue cheese, as well as Parmigiano-Reggiano, lemon zest and sage in these flavor-packed veal meatballs. She roasts the meatballs for the "less guilt" factor.
No. 3: Prosciutto and Cheese Crostata
This elegant party pastry is actually not complicated to make. Just take a store-bought pie crust and layer shaved parmesan, prosciutto, fontina and marinated red pepper, then fold in the sides and bake. Garnish with fresh basil and you’re ready for guests!
No. 4: White Beans and Rosemary Crostini
This simple dip is made by rendering pancetta in a pan, then adding rosemary, garlic, lemon juice and white beans and mashing the beans a little with a wooden spoon. Serve on toasted sliced baguette.
No. 5: Trisha Yearwood’s Caramelized Onion Dip
This onion dip isn’t like your typical dip made from a dried soup mix. Trisha caramelizes her own onions by cooking them low and slow, for a rich, sweet flavor. She mixes her caramelized onions with mayo, Greek yogurt, Worcestershire sauce and that’s it!
This recipe came to us courtesy of an adorable kid chef! He just takes a sheet of puff pastry and tops it with cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon, then rolls, slices and bakes! Perfect party snack.
No. 7: Spinach and Artichoke-Stuffed Mushrooms
These party-sized mushroom bites are chock full of delicious ingredients like garlic, Parmigiano-Reggiano, pine nuts, spinach and artichoke – delish!
