It may be the dead of winter in many parts of the country, but it’s citrus season in warmer US climates! So that means you can find bountiful quantities of oranges in your supermarket, for in-season prices! Read on for seven delicious ways to use this sweet and sour fruit.

No. 1: Chicken Thighs with Orange and Rosemary, and Saffron Rice with Pine Nuts and Golden Raisins

This rich Mediterranean dish is is packed with flavor from lots of rosemary, garlic, shallots, butter, olives, marsala, sliced oranges, saffron and pine nuts. Yum!

No. 2: Orange-Sugar Fried Beignets

Mardi Gras is right around the corner, and if you want to celebrate like they do in New Orleans, check out Sunny Anderson’s fake-out beignet recipe. She adds orange zest to her colored sugar to infuse it with citrus flavor!
