Cake Boss Buddy Valastro is showing you how to make brunch Hoboken, New Jersey style! He and his wife Lisa are in the kitchen with Rach cooking up a strata, salad and scones for dessert!
This scone recipe is the first recipe Buddy’s dad ever taught him! Back then, they called them tea biscuits, and they were made with raisins, but Buddy updated them with chocolate chips, his wife’s favorite!
Tip: Be careful not to overmix the dough.
This is the perfect make-ahead dish to prepare the night before, and just cook in the morning. Buddy layers stale bread with eggs, milk, basil, onion and cheese and lets it sit for at least 1.5 hours to let the bread absorb the liquid. Yum!
Buddy’s wife Lisa makes this delicate spinach salad. She tosses spinach with a white wine Dijon vinaigrette, then arranges it on the plate with marinated artichoke hearts, capers, tuna and shaved Parmesan. Delish!
