• 6 hot dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns
  • 6 pickle spears
  • 1 tomato, cut in half and then into 6 slices
  • Yellow mustard
  • Pickle relish
  • 1 small white onion, finely chopped
  • 12 pickled hot peppers
  • Celery salt, for sprinkling
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Put hot dogs in a shallow pan and cover with water. Place the pan onto the stove and bring to a boil then turn off the heat. Leave the hot dogs in the water to stay warm until you’re ready to eat.

To build a dog, place one of the hot dogs into a bun. Nestle a pickle spear along one side of the hot dog and two tomato slices along the other. Drizzle with yellow mustard and give it a good lather of relish. Garnish with some diced white onion and pickled hot peppers, sprinkle the dog with some celery salt and poppy seeds, and serve.
