Richard Blais’ Pumpkin Seed Trail Mix

Fresh pumpkin seeds
Apple pie spice
Freeze-dried apple pieces, chopped
Dried and sweetened pineapple cubes
Chocolate chunks or chips
Sesame rice crisps
Teriyaki turkey jerky, chopped
Toasted hazelnut pieces
Smoked Marcona almonds
Leftover Halloween candy, chopped small


Clean the pumpkin seeds thoroughly and soak in water overnight at room temperature. Drain into a colander and let dry slightly.
Toss the almost-dry seeds with apple pie spice. Toast the sliced seeds in a low oven (about 200°F) for a few hours until crispy and dry.
Toss toasted pumpkin seeds with remaining ingredients.
