Nod to Nog

Serves 1 cocktail

2 ounces skim milk
2 1/2 ounces dark rum
1/2 ounces simple syrup
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cardamon
1 whole egg
Freshly ground nutmeg


In a small (at least 6-ounce) pitcher, froth the milk well as if for cappuccino; reserve.
Shake the remaining ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker and strain into a glass mug. Top with the frothed milk and garnish with nutmeg.
