Saffron is widely known as the most expensive spice in the world. The little orange threads can go for a whopping $7,000+ per pound!

Luckily, a little goes a long way. “It’s pricey but all you need is the tiniest pinch,” our culinary team member Grant Melton explains.

“It’s kind of sweetly floral and you add it to dishes for more of an essence than a taste really,” explains Grant. (Think: saffron-scented pasta.)
