Quinoa is one of the most popular superfoods to gain in popularity over the past decade. The nutty grain, which originated in South America, is extremely nutritious, delivering a laundry list of vitamins and minerals, and even loads of protein. But if you’ve never cooked it, it might seem intimidating.
We’re here to tell you -- you have nothing to fear. If you’ve cooked rice, you can handle cooking quinoa, and you might even find it easier!
HERE’S HOW TO DO IT:
Add quinoa and water or stock to a saucepan and bring to a bubble. Cover pot and reduce heat to low. Simmer 10-15 minutes.
You’ll know the quinoa is done with the germ unfurls, making little rings. (Look closely at the photo above and you’ll see what we mean.)
