Ingredients

  • 4 cups corn cereal
  • 4 cups rice cereal
  • 2 cups cone-shaped corn snacks, such as Bugles
  • 2 cups honeycomb cereal
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts
  • 1 cup sesame sticks
  • 1 cup wasabi peas
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup furikake seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Yield

Serves: 8 to 10

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 250°F.

In a large bowl, combine the corn cereal, rice cereal, corn snacks, honeycomb cereal, macadamia nuts, sesame sticks and wasabi peas.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the vegetable oil, soy sauce, maple syrup and Worcestershire sauce and stir until well combined. Add the furikake seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder and stir until well combined. Pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated.

Spread the mixture in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking, then let cool completely.

Serve in individual snack bags or a large bowl for sharing.
