Rach's husband John shares his recipe for a Gin Berry Smash, made with ripe summer berries, fresh mint + lemon juice muddled together.
John uses a muddler to crush the fresh mint and berries and release their flavors in the video above, but if you don't have a muddler, you can use the handle of a wooden spoon instead.
Try pairing this refreshing cocktail with Rach's Popcorn Chicken with White Cheddar Popcorn & Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce.
Ingredients
- Fresh mint leaves
- Fresh berries, such as strawberries or blackberries
- About 3 ounces gin
- About 3 ounces elderflower liqueur (John's go-to is St-Germain)
- About 3 ounces lemon juice
- Ice
Yield
Serves: 2
Preparation
In a cocktail shaker, add the mint and muddle about 8 times to express the oils. Add a few fresh berries, then muddle with the mint. Add gin, St-Germain and lemon juice, then fill with ice, cover and shake vigorously. Strain into 2 ice-filled glasses.
Always drink responsibly.
