This easy 2-ingredient appetizer is summer party food at its finest.
It comes together in just a few minutes, you can make it on the grill so you'll never have to step foot in the kitchen and it's a finger food, which is always a hit!
I like to serve them with this lemony parmesan mayonnaise for dipping but they're just as delicious straight off the grill without any sauce. If you wanted to serve these as a side, you could also drizzle with this sauce over the top.
- 16 asparagus spears
- 16 thin slices of prosciutto, about ½ pound
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Snip off the tough ends of the asparagus. Wrap each half of prosciutto around the asparagus and set aside.
Heat a grill to a medium heat. Using a basting brush or paper towel, oil the gill so the prosciutto doesn’t stick. Place the wrapped spears onto the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until prosciutto is crisp. If the prosciutto sticks to the grill, let it keep cooking. It should be easy to flip when it’s cooked. Remove to a platter.
If you’re making the dipping sauce, mix together mayo, lemon juice, lemon zest, parmesan, garlic, salt and black pepper. Serve with the asparagus.
