For Valentine's Day, John puts a royal twist on the classic sidecar cocktail, topping it with Champagne. "It's really simple, really easy and really tasty," he says. Rach agrees. "That is delightful," she says after one sip, adding, "It's really easy to drink, so look out!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces Cognac
  • ¾ ounce Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
  • ¾ ounce fresh lime juice
  • 3 ounces Champagne
  • Lemon twist, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Add the Cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake to chill, then strain into a chilled Champagne flute or coupe. Top with Champagne and garnish with lemon twist.
