After trying Whipped Coffee last year, culinary staffer Ben Perez tried the TikTok-famous whipped lemonade recipe—and it became his 2021 vacation drink. We're not sure what we were waiting for to try it! Here, he shares his version of the viral whipped lemonade recipe.
"I would say it's totally worth the hype and super simple," Ben says.
Ben's secret ingredient for whipped lemonade: "I added a tiny pinch of salt (trust me on this), because I felt it gave it that frozen margarita-ish vibe and made the flavor more vibrant."
Ben's note: If you're using unsweetened homemade whipped cream, you can use up to ⅓ cup of sweetened condensed milk, depending on how sweet you'd like your whipped lemonade to be.
"A high-powered blender like a Vitamix or Ninja is key. It needs to be blended quickly enough that the blender motor doesn’t heat up and melt the ice and make a soupy drink, because that’s no fun."
"I also tried a couple different fruit varieties. I substituted ½ cup ice for ½ cup of frozen fruits, such as strawberry, blueberry and peach, and those were also delicious variations."

Can't get enough of the whipped drink trend? Try Whipped Strawberry Milk!
If making your own whipped cream, whip heavy whipping cream in a medium bowl with a hand mixer or whisk, until stiff peaks form.
To a high-powered blender, add whipped cream, ice, lemon zest and juice, sweetened condensed milk and salt. Blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds until mixture is thoroughly blended.
Spoon into your favorite glass and garnish with a slice of lemon.
