It’s spring and that means we’re all spending a lot more time outdoors. Is your same-old, same-old outdoor space getting you down? John Gidding shares five home makeover projects you can do this weekend – and they all cost less than $50.

Project 1: Give Your Door a New Look

John suggests a bold color like rust, red or purple for your front door. It will really make your home pop, and the cost of paint is really quite low.

Project 2: Change Up Your House Numbers

Home improvement stores have many low-cost, unique and stylized options for numbers to hang on the exterior of your home.

Project 3: Make Your Own Window Boxes

You can make your own window boxes for pennies on the dollar. Fill them with inexpensive flowers and you’re done!

Project 4: Use Cans as Planters

Old coffee or vegetable cans make cute and cheap planters. They look fun in groupings along your walkway or on your stoop.

Project 5: Line Your Walkway

An easy and inexpensive way to class up your yard is to use stones or gravel to map out a walkway. It’s much less expensive to just do the border than to do the entire path.

So if you have a few hours and a few bucks, make a plan to do one of the above projects this weekend! It might just be the boost your yard needs to be ready for summer entertaining! Watch the video below for details.
