If you overindulge on Halloween, you’re not alone. “The Biggest Loser” trainer Bob Harper says that American adults eat an average of about one pound of candy per person on Halloween.
“I’m never going to tell anyone not to have candy on Halloween,” Bob says, but he does advise a reset after the big splurge, sharing 3 tips for getting back on track.
Tip 1: Restrict Your Calories
“If you’re going to play, you’ve got to pay,” Bob says, suggesting that you keep your calories to a healthy amount the day after Halloween.
Tip 2: Drink a Lot of Water
Bob recommends drinking 12 cups of water the day after Halloween to flush out all the toxins. He suggests following this rule of thumb: “Drink before you’re thirsty.”
Tip 3: Eat a Lot of Fiber
Fiber will help you to feel full while cutting back on the calories. Bob says you can get it from fruits and veggies, but a powdered fiber product works too.
Bob dressed as “The Strong Man” for our Halloween Circus but that’s not the only cool costume he’s donned over the years. Check out the video below to see Bob as Aladdin, David Bowie (twice), Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and more:
