Former Female Baseball Pro Maybelle Blair Reflects on Coming Out at 95 Years Old

Former All-American Girls Professional Baseball League player Maybelle Blair reflects on coming out as gay at 95 years old—on stage at the Amazon "League of Their Own" premiere.

"They had a question and answer session," Maybelle recalls. "I don't know what happened to me. I said to the whole audience—can you imagine?—'I'm gay.' I came out at 95 years old, and I was so thrilled. Now I'm out in the open. I can tell everybody and help other people realize that you don't have to hide in the closet anymore. People now understand and can realize it's who you are. And that's what counts." Amazing—go Maybelle, go!
