Rach Surprises NJ Firefighters For The Holidays With Visit From Denis Leary AND a Home-Cooked Meal

Every year, the Leary Firefighters Foundation awards grants to fire departments for lifesaving gear — and one of this year's recipients, the Edison Fire Department in New Jersey, got a special visit from Rach and Denis Leary just in time for the holidays.

"One of the most difficult things for us to train on is live fire," Fire Marshal Tim Langan explains. "We came across the LION Digital Fire Training System, and we knew right there, that was the answer."

"We applied for the grant [and] sent it in," he continues. "Everyone was thrilled around here when we got it."

"The device simulates real-life firefighting without putting us into the dangerous conditions that we would normally encounter," firefighter Jay Gorman adds.

Not only did Rach surprise the Edison firefighters with a special guest (Denis, of course!), but she also brought them a holiday feast — with help from her friend and caterer-to-the-stars Mary Giuliani. (One of the special dishes Rach brought is her Broken Meatball Ziti-zagna — which, of course, was a hit.)
