Rach's husband John uses ouzo, honey and lemon to make a cocktail spritzer he's dubbed "The Bubbly Greek."

"Ouzo tastes like sambuca," John says. "It's basically a licorice-tasting spirit."

Inspired by Greek flavors (like those in Rach's Greek Sheet Pan Chicken), John used honey instead of sugar to make the simple syrup (equal parts sugar and hot water) for this cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces ouzo or vodka
  • 1 ½ ounces lemon juice
  • Honey syrup or simple syrup, to taste
  • Club soda, for topping
  • Fennel tops, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 2

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker, combine ouzo, lemon juice, and honey syrup. Add ice, cover and shake vigorously, then strain into 2 ice-filled glasses. Top with club soda and garnish with fennel tops.

Always drink responsibly.
