Ingredients

  • 1 slice bread
  • Butter or oil, for frying
  • 1 egg

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Using a large heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out a heart from a slice of bread. Using a smaller medium-sized heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out a medium-sized heart from the big heart-shaped slice of bread.

In a pan, heat a little butter or oil over medium heat. Add the medium- and large-sized heart-shaped bread to the pan, then crack the egg into the center of the large-sized heart. Cook, flipping halfway through, until toast is browned and egg is cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes.

Arrange the hearts on a serving plate.
