Meet a Barber Who Inspires Children to Read

One simple act of kindness can leave lasting impressions, and one barber is doing just that. Children can come to Courtney Holmes’ shop, choose a book they’d like to read, and in exchange for a free haircut, must read the book aloud while Courtney cuts their hair. At the end, they can keep the book and take it home with them. When the program first started, 20 children showed up for free haircuts and he was “overwhelmed with joy.” Rach is also giving back; to Courtney and his community.
