Having a party and don’t know what or how much to serve? Follow Anne Burrell’s formulas to make sure to please everyone!

Equation 1: 4 Bites Per Person Per Hour

If you’re having a small cocktail party, Anne suggests having enough appetizers so that each person can eat four small bites per hour of the party.

Equation 2: The 3-2-2-2 Rule

In general, Anne suggests following this rule (which can be modified if your guests have special diet preferences). For a dinner party or large gathering, she serves three meat entrees, two sides, two veggies and two desserts.

And she offers some bonus advice – make sure your appetizers are set out before your guests arrive so you can welcome them in style, and make sure to accept offers of help from your guests in order to make things run more smoothly.
