Emeril Lagasse's Kansas City-Style BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup store-bought ketchup
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cane syrup or dark corn syrup
- 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
- 1/2 teaspoons finely grated onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Preparation
Combine ingredients in a blender and process until thoroughly blended and smooth. Sauce can be made up to 1 week in advance and refrigerated in an airtight container.
