Upgrade Your Frozen Cheese Pizza for Breakfast, Lunch + Dinner

Food & Fun - By on

Frozen pizza -- it’s a great timesaver, but the standard toppings can be a bit blah. Food Network’s “The Kitchen” co-host Sunny Anderson has three super-easy, yum-o ways to upgrade a plain frozen cheese pizza (something you probably already have in your freezer) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast: Croque Madame Pizza

Start by slicing up some deli ham into thin strips and pile them in swirled “nests” on top of your frozen pizza. Crack some room temperature eggs into your nests, then top with grated Gruyere and bake. Top the finished pie with some drizzles of thinned-out grape jelly and you’ve got a sweet and savory breakfast treat!

Lunch: Pizzagna

For this mashup of pizza and lasagna, top a plain cheese pizza with dollops of lemon-y ricotta, halved pre-made meatballs, and mozzarella. After baking off the pie, top it with red pepper flakes, parmesan, fresh arugula and a drizzle of EVOO.

Dinner: Buffalo Chicken Pizza

For this buffalo wings-style delight, top a frozen pizza with shredded rotisserie chicken tossed with a store-bought buffalo sauce, and Monterey jack cheese. After it bakes, add shaved celery and celery tops, shredded carrots, and a drizzle of ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Tip: To get your shaved celery to form pretty curlicues, simply soak in ice water for 15 minutes.
