You picked up some chicken at the market and you’re ready to make it for Sunday dinner — but you might be wondering, how long do you need to cook it for?

The answer depends on what cut of chicken you're making.

HOW TO BAKE BONELESS, SKINLESS CHICKEN BREAST
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Drizzle 4 8-ounce chicken breasts with a bit of EVOO and season with salt and pepper. Bake on a baking sheet until cooked through, 35-40 minutes.

HOW TO BAKE BONE-IN, SKIN-ON CHICKEN THIGHS
To bake bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs, preheat your oven to 400°F and roast to an internal temperature of 165°F, about 35-40 minutes.

HOW TO BAKE (ROAST) A WHOLE CHICKEN
Preheat your oven to 425°F and roast for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

HOW TO BAKE A SPATCHCOCKED CHICKEN
To bake a spatchcocked chicken (if you’re saying, “Wait, what does spatchcock mean,” check this out), preheat your oven to 425°F and roast chicken 45-50 minutes, until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the juices run clear.
