Edible Cheese Bowls

Food & Fun - By on

Melted grated cheese gets frozen into edible serving bowls that are great for any special occasion.

Former contestant on Food Network's "Rachael vs. Guy Kids Cookoff," Alessandra Ciuffo uses these to serve her Blueberry and Shrimp Risotto.

Ingredients
  • Ice
  • 6 cups grated asiago cheese
Preparation

Fill a 12-inch pan (or larger) with ice.

Sprinkle 1 ½ cups cheese in a 9-inch nonstick pan over medium heat and cook until melted, bubbly and crisp along the edges. Remove from heat and place in the larger pan filled with ice. Cool for 20 seconds, then remove with a spatula and drape over an inverted 12-ounce disposable plastic cup, molding the crepe-like cheese with clean hands to form a "bowl." Repeat with the remaining cheese, using a new cup for each "bowl."

Freeze "bowls" draped over their cups until set, about 20 minutes. Gently remove cups from the "bowls," bending the plastic cup as needed to release the "bowls."
