Frosty the Sno-waffles
Culinary team member Jeanette Donnarumma shares a fun holiday treat made with mini waffles that everyone will enjoy.
Pro Tip: If you're feeding a crowd or have late sleepers, make the waffles in advance and keep them crispy and warm on a baking rack-lined baking sheet in a 200°F oven.
- 2 cups Pearl Milling Company Buttermilk Complete Mix
- 1 ½ cups water
- ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup ground flax seeds
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Nonstick cooking spray
- Snow-Person Supplies (choose whatever your sweet and snowy heart desires!): strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, sliced kiwis, sliced bananas, peeled oranges or clementines, cantaloupe, honeydew, pecans, almonds, walnuts, pretzel sticks, dried coconut
- Pearl Milling Company Original Syrup, for topping
Preheat a mini waffle iron.
In a large bowl, whisk together the Pearl Milling Company Buttermilk Complete Mix, water, apple sauce, yogurt, flax seeds, oats, pumpkin pie spice and salt. Let the mixture sit for 4 or 5 minutes.
Spray the inside of the mini waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. Pour ¼ cup waffle batter onto the bottom of the waffle iron and close the top. Cook until browned and cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes.
Put 2 waffles on each plate with assorted snow-person supplies and let everyone go to town creating their own designs!
Serve with Pearl Milling Company Original Syrup.
