Ted Allen's Cranberry Relish
This spiced cran-apple relish with a splash of orange liqueur from "Chopped" host Ted Allen takes traditional cranberry sauce up a notch.

- One 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup orange liqueur, such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 lemon, zested
- 1 orange, zested
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, apple, sugar, orange liqueur, ½ cup water, the cinnamon and cloves and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until cranberries start to pop, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in zests and chill.
