John created this spicy bourbon-and-beer-based cocktail for Rach's baseball-themed show, and as she says, he knocked it out of the park! It goes perfectly with her crowd-pleasing Baseball Meatballs with Bacon Laces. We highly recommend the "Batter Up" Breakfast Corn Dogs that Josh Capon prepared on this episode, too. 

Ingredients
For the Simple Syrup:
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
For the Cocktail:
  • 1 ½ ounces bourbon
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • ¾ ounce Simple Syrup (above)
  • 3 dashes hot sauce
  • 6 ounces beer
  • Chili pepper, for garnish
Preparation

For the simple syrup, combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat and stir over low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to use. 

For the cocktail, add the bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and hot sauce to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir to chill, pour into a glass and top with the beer. Garnish with chili pepper.
