Tornado Potatoes Are Going Viral On TikTok—and We See Why

Food & Fun - By on

Scrolling through TikTok to see all the latest and greatest food trends is one of our new favorite hobbies—and these tornado potatoes have us drooling, just like the TikTok-Famous Crispy Parmesan Potato Cubes and 15-Hour Potato. Of course, we're big fans of potatoes whether they're stuffed, mashed or in french-fry form, but after seeing these Tornado Potatoes spiralized and deep fried, they're at the top of our must-try list.

With over 7.5 million views on the hashtag #tornadopotato, it's clear we're not the only ones obsessing over these drool-worthy potatoes.

The photogenic street food, which originated in South Korea, is definitely becoming more popular in markets, on boardwalks and at outdoor fairs in cities like Los Angeles and Melbourne.— According to NPR, "Two years ago, a picture of one from South Korea began circulating on the Internet and sparked the imagination of fried-food fans everywhere."

Can't get your hands on one as quickly as you'd like? Don't worry, you can make them at home, too!

Some TikTok creators even take the recipe a step further coating the tornado potatoes in cheese or spices. Yum! Check them out:
