Over the years, our show has been known to pull off some epic makeovers -- but on occasion, we take on a different kind of task ...

A makeUNDER!

When we heard that a bubbly and vibrant viewer (and hairdresser) named Mimi hasn’t rocked her own natural hair in years (she owns about 20 wigs!), we had to bring her in and see if we could help her embrace it.

Her son, Dwight, was especially hoping she’d soften her boldest style choices. (He suggested “mom jeans,” but celebrity stylist June Ambrose met him halfway.)

“You can’t miss it when you see it!” Dwight says of his mom’s bold look.

So, with June’s help, Mimi debuted her gorgeous natural hair after covering it up for about 17 years -- AND she flaunted a slightly scaled back (but no less colorful!) ensemble.

“You didn’t want to change her,” Rach affirms. “You wanted her to keep on being her.”
