Rach shares a simple recipe for homemade pico de gallo—and once you try this easy salsa, you'll never look at store-bought the same.
This classic salsa gets topped onto Rach's Fish or Chicken Soft Tacos.
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Juice of 1 lime
- Hot sauce, optional
- Sprinkle of ground cumin, optional
- Salt
- 6 plum or vine-ripened tomatoes, seeded and chopped
Combine onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice and zest, hot sauce and cumin (if using) in a bowl, season with salt and pepper, then let sit for several minutes. Mix in chopped tomatoes when ready to serve.
