We love it whenever Beth Stern stops by because she always brings puppies or kittens with her!

This time, in honor of National Adopt-a-Shelter-Pet Day on April 30, Beth introduced us to a new set of furry friends, all up for adoption through North Shore Animal League America.

And to add even more cuteness (is that possible?!), all of the pups were given adorable superlatives.

First up is "Best Dressed" — Rocky!

Rocky is a 10-week-old lab mix from Tennessee and he is PRECIOUS.

Next up we have Janet! This cutie-patootie is "Most Athletic."

Janet is a shepherd mix and another Southern rescue! What a beautiful Southern belle.

Wondering who wears the title for "Most Photogenic"? It's Columbo!

Columbo is a tiny little terrier mix at only 8 weeks old. Just look at that face!

And finally, we have "The Most Spirited" — Bowie!

Bowie is a pitbull mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. (How cute!)

Now, not only is tomorrow National Adopt-a-Shelter-Pet Day, but it's also North Shore Animal League America's 75th anniversary. AND May is their Global Pet Adoptathon month!

"We're having a global adoptathon where 2,000 shelters are joining forces," Beth says. "We are going to spend the whole month of May really encouraging people to go out and adopt."

There's even a kickoff event this weekend, on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, in Port Washington, NY.

But wait, we have one more surprise!

As it turns out, we're not the only big fans of Beth Stern and all the work she does for animals. We surprised Beth with a visit from a second grader named Lea who dedicated an entire school project to Beth's work.

Lea actually calls Beth her "shero." (Her female hero!)
