When country music star Rory Feek's wife, Joey, passed away from cancer in March 2016, their daughter, Indiana, was only two years old.

And in the months leading up to her death, Joey made a conscious decision that could only be described as incredibly selfless.

"She told me," Rory recounts to Rach, "'I'm going to push the baby away' – who's two – [to] make me greater in her life and her less, because she knew it was going to be a transition."

"I wouldn’t have done that," the country music star admits. "I think I would have said, 'You get forever with her; I want all of it right now.' She had an understanding of the bigger picture."

Wow. We're in absolute awe.

Well, Joey's inspiring vision of Rory and Indiana's close bond growing stronger has certainly materialized. Rory loves reading his 4-year-old daughter children's books -- and he recently decided to write one of his own, called The Cow Said Neigh!

"I think it's something I want to do a lot more of," Rory says.
