The dessert maven came in to school us on the latest trends in cake-making, including how to make a watercolor cake, which boasts the ombre effect of waves in the sea.

So how's it done? Essentially, Buddy takes his cake and three colors of icing (in this case, white, baby blue and turquoise). Once he applies the icing, he does so in alternating stripes, so that once he smooths it out, it has that "watercolor" finish.
Just call him Buddy Degas!
