We all want to look and feel our best, but once you’re engaged you feel an extra sense of motivation, since of course, you have to look at those wedding pictures FOREVER.
California couple Gina Shansey, 36, and Dylan Booth, 31, each set a goal to drop around 40 pounds before their big day. Both got a personal trainer to help supercharge their training in order to hit their 90-day target (and beyond… the show aims to set them up with healthy habits for life).
We brought in Shansey’s trainer, Erin Stutland, to tell us more about the challenges couples face on the show.
“Between having only 90 days to complete their goals and having their wedding day to look forward to, it creates a sense of urgency, inspiration, and energy to be motivated and stay on track,” she explains.
Adding, “What makes this show unique is that they aren’t sequestered from life. We’re just checking in and doing workouts with them every couple of weeks. We give them a plan to follow, so we’re not even with them every day. They’re really on their own!”
At the start of the show, Booth weighed in at 330 pounds, while Shansey weighed 215 pounds and hoped to shrink from a wedding dress size of 20 to a 12.
Check out the video above to hear about their physical and emotional struggles during the 90-day journey, see their incredible transformations, find out whether or not Shansey got into that size 12 wedding dress, and how the couple has done sticking to their new healthy lifestyle.
