To kick 2017 off in a crafty way, décor expert Brit Morin came by to show Rachael two (easy!) DIY trends that are blowing up the internet. Check out these two new takes on crafting below.
Arm Knitting:
The knitting trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere — and this new technique proves that anyone who doesn't think they can knit, really can do it. This includes Rachael, who has admitted that she’s crafting-challenged. But Brit showed Rach that anyone can knit — by using chunky strands of wool and using your arms and hands as knitting needles! (Let us pick up our jaws from the floor... You have to see this to believe it in the video above.) The result? A super soft scarf or blanket that can be made in under an hour.
Check out the video for the exact arm-knitting techniques ^^
Watercoloring:
A favorite in childhood art classes, watercoloring is another trend that won't go away. Here, Brit shows Rachael how to make DIY watercolor curtains (although anything white will work, like pillowcases, or even a scrap of fabric from the dollar store). Brit uses fabric paint, large sponges and some water, and voila, a beautiful pastel curtain that Rach deemed “perfect for Spring.”
Check out the video above for more specific how-tos ^^
