B-L-T Burger Night + "The View" Host Sara Haines
It all started when Teddy Fitzgibbons, then 22, moved to New York City. He was eating a breakfast sandwich as he walked to work when a homeless man asked him if he could have the other half.
“That little interaction has absolutely changed my life,” Teddy said. “The lightbulb went off that there’s an opportunity to feed a large, and unfortunately growing, population of unsheltered homeless with a very affordable breakfast sandwich.”

So he started Hearty Start, an organization that works with formerly homeless staff to hand out breakfast to thousands of hungry folks in New York City -- and it’s been a massive success.
“It has really accelerated beyond my wildest dreams. So far we’ve delivered more than 15,000 breakfast sandwiches,” says Fitzgibbons.
Hearty Start’s distribution manager Munoz Price was once homeless himself, and his interactions go beyond just delivering a meal.
“I can remember when I was homeless, people would look down on me,” Price told Rach. “Now that I have the opportunity to help somebody, I always make sure that I take the time to talk to them, shake their hand, give them a hug, and let them know it’s going to be all right.”

Rach, whose nonprofit organization, Yum-o!, works to fight childhood hunger, agrees: “It’s not just that we have the responsibility to feed each other as neighbors, it’s about building community, taking time to look each other in the eye and let them know that they’re valued.”
Teddy and Munoz invited Rach to join them in spreading the breakfast love. Watch the video below to see why Munoz told Rach she has “a good eye.”

When they got back to the studio, Rach had a big surprise for them -- Conagra Brands Foundation generously donated $10,000 to help feed even more people!
