Everyone has that one friend who can eat just about anything and not gain a single pound, right?

But for most of us, that simply isn't the case!

And yet! According to celebrity nutritionist Haylie Pomroy, who just authored Metabolism Revolution, it doesn't have to be like that.

Not only does she say you CAN reboot your metabolism, she claims that you do it by eating.

And for most people, eating MORE.

(Revolutionary indeed!)

"Metabolism is essentially the process of converting food to fuel and using that fuel for energy," says Haylie. "In other words, you have to eat in order to rev up your metabolism and lose weight."

She adds, "Some people do have faster metabolisms than others, and that’s why you know those people who can eat whatever they want, while others have a metabolism that’s dysfunctional. The good news is, you can intervene on that dysfunctional metabolism and make it functional again with the right food."

When Haylie thinks about what's on her plate, she sees it like this: "Think of metabolism like a fire, where protein is the log, vegetables are the kindling and fat is the lighter fluid. Sometimes you need more logs, sometimes you need more kindling and sometimes you need more lighter fluid."

But how do you know which one you need?

By calculating your Metabolic Intervention Score (MIS), she says.

USE THIS EQUATION TO CALCULATE YOUR METABOLIC INTERVENTION SCORE (MIS):

14 ÷ current body weight (taken first thing in the morning) X 100

Got your number? Now, find your meal map category, A, B or C, which will tell you how many servings of protein, vegetables, fruit, carbs and fats you should have every day:

IF YOUR MIS IS 10 OR MORE (A)
"You're not far from your ideal weight," says Haylie, "but your body feels stable so it may be hard to lose that stubborn last few pounds. Of all categories, you should be eating the least to rev up your metabolism."

IF YOUR MIS IS BETWEEN 7 AND 9 (B)
"Your weight may be constantly shifting, so the goal is to stabilize it. You should be eating a balance of protein and carbs, with an emphasis on veggies," she says.

IF YOUR MIS IS 6 OR LOWER (C)
"Your metabolism needs the most intervention," says Haylie. "Your body fat to protein ratio is so off, and you need to intervene with lots of protein and vegetables."

Sounds simple enough!
