Serve this cucumber yogurt sauce from Art Smith — former "Top Chef," Southern food restaurateur and former chef to Oprah — alongside his grilled lamb kebabs or with pita for dipping. He made it during the Season 4 premiere of our show in 2009.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of diced cucumbers, seeded
- ½ of a red onion, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped mint
- 2 cups of yogurt, Greek style
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
Begin by dicing the cucumber, mincing the red onion and garlic clove, and then chopping the mint. Place all of these ingredients in a bowl, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cumin.
Add the yogurt to the bowl, stirring and smashing the ingredients so they release their flavor into the yogurt. Taste for seasoning and serve with Kofta Kebabs.
