With the weather outside starting to cool down, now's a great time to gather your family round for some feel-good food.
What better way to do that then by making not one, but three warm and comforting chili recipes?
We've partnered with our good friends at Bush's Beans to show you how to take one base chili recipe and turn it into three brand-new recipes you'll be craving all season long.

Tina’s Base Chili
2 pounds ground turkey
1 yellow onion, cut into small dice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 jalapeño, minced
1 red pepper, cut into small dice
4 tablespoon ancho chile powder
2 tablespoon cumin
2 tablespoon paprika
1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes
1 15-ounce can diced tomatoes
2 cups chicken stock
2 tablespoon masa harina or crushed corn chips
For the Pico de Guaco (if making Pico de Guaco Kidney Bean Chili*):
1 small red onion, finely diced
1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely diced
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 ripe avocados, peeled, pitted and diced
3 vine-ripe tomatoes, seeded and diced
About 1 cup cilantro leaves, roughly chopped
In a bowl, combine the onion, jalapeño, lemon juice and salt and let it sit for 10 minutes. Gently fold in the remaining ingredients.
In a cast-iron pot over medium heat, cook turkey until browned, around 5 minutes. Add onions, garlic, jalapeños and red pepper, and sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft. Add spices and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add both cans of diced tomatoes and the stock. Simmer for 25-30 minutes. Add in masa harina or crushed chips to thicken.
To make Corny Black Bean Chili:
Add in 1 can of Bush’s Black Chili Beans, 2 cups of sautéed corn and 1 bunch finely sliced scallions, both the green and white parts. Top with corn chips to serve.
To make Healthy Sweet Apple White Chili:
Add in 1 diced sweet apple and 1 zucchini, grated. Cook out for around 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender then add in 1 can of Bush’s White Chili Beans. Top with baked pita chips to serve.
*To make Pico de Guaco Kidney Bean Chili
Add in 1 can Bush’s Kidney Chili Beans. Top with pico de guaco or one of your favorite items, such as guacamole, cilantro, sour cream, tortilla chips or shredded cheddar cheese.
