Ingredients
For the Honey Syrup:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
For the Margarita:
- 3 ounces silver tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces orange liqueur
- 1 ounces honey syrup
- 3 ounces puréed watermelon
- 4 sprigs cilantro or 4 to 5 mint leaves
- 2 lime wedges
Yield
Serves: 2 cocktails
Preparation
In a small saucepan, combine honey and water over medium heat and cook until the honey is dissolved into the water. Syrup can be stored in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Fill a cocktail shaker or large Mason jar with ice. Pour tequila, orange liqueur, honey syrup, watermelon purée and cilantro or mint into a shaker; seal and shake to combine.
Pour margarita into ice filled glasses and garnish each with cilantro or mint leaves. Squeeze a lime wedge into each drink and serve.
