Valerie Bertinelli, host of Food Network's "Valerie's Home Cooking" and Hulu's "Kids Baking Championship," balances tasty and healthy by topping her wedge salad with onion rings and a drizzle of homemade ranch dressing.


For the Ranch dressing:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried chive
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper  
For the salad:
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, quartered and cored
  • 6 to 8 radishes, thinly sliced
  • 10 to 12 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Onion Rings, for topping


Serves: 4


For the Ranch dressing, combine the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. 

For the salad, top each iceberg wedge with radishes and tomatoes. Drizzle the dressing over the wedges. Lay the onion rings on top of the salads.
