"This drink is traditionally called Negroni Sbagliato (Italian for "a mistaken Negroni"). Basically, it's a Negroni prepared with sparkling white wine instead of gin and was likely invented because the bartender either ran out of gin or mistakenly added Prosecco. Here, I'm substituting sparkling rose wine for the gin and calling it 'The Big Mistake'." —John
John created the drink for a dinner with family and friends at the Tuscan home he shares with Rachael. The meal included Rach's Four Cheese Stuffed Eggplant Rolls, Jamie Simpson's Raw Zucchini Pasta Salad with Pumpkin Seed Pesto and Maria's Ricotta Cake and Olive Oil Cake.
Add the Campari and sweet vermouth to an ice-filled rocks glass. Stir to chill, then top with the sparkling rose wine. Garnish with orange peel.
Always Drink Responsibly.
