We’re sharing some simple tricks that will make three tricky spring cleaning tasks super easy.

Task: How do you clean your garbage disposal?

Trick 1: Just pour equal parts baking soda and vinegar (separately, in that order) down the drain. Watch the bubbling chemical reaction do the cleaning for you! Then pour a kettle of hot water down the drain.

Trick 2: Add some egg shells and turn on the disposal to keep the blades sharp.

Task: What part of the house is most overlooked when it comes to cleaning?

Trick 3: People tend to look eye-level and down when it comes to cleaning, and overlook the cleaning that needs to be done overhead. If you have a ceiling fan and haven’t used it through the winter months, it’s likely pretty dusty. Just use a duster with an extendable handle, and voila, no need to worry about spreading that dust everywhere when you do need to use the fan.

Task: How do you get the grout in the bath sparkling without scrubbing for hours with a toothbrush?

Trick 4: Use an electric toothbrush. Brilliant!

Trick 5: Or, use a clothing steamer to kill all the bacteria.

Trick 6: Another option is to spray a mixture of vinegar and vodka straight onto the grout, which will sanitize.
