Bob Greene's Best Life Diet Tour

Fitness guru Bob Greene invites Rachael on board his "@[Best Life Diet](http://www.thebestlife.com/)" bus, where he'll be spending the next five weeks on the road inspiring people -- already half a million -- to live healthier. When he joins Rachael in her studio, he explains the one mistake most dieters make. "They cut calories when they want to drop weight," he says. "Sounds reasonable, but that will actually hurt your metabolism in the long run. The first phase of the Best Life diet charges up your metabolism -- we want you moving. The people who are successful with the program have adopted exercise as a way of life." Bob explains that the second phase of the diet throws out certain foods, such as soda and white bread. "We want to replace those with healthier alternatives," he says. Another reason why some people are successful is support from family and friends. "When we study people who go off of a healthy way of life," he says, "a lot of the time it's because of the people in their life." Bob points out that there are two types of sabotage: the first is unconscious, where those around you might not realize the negativity of their words. He explains, "They might say, 'You can have a little bit more of that,' or 'Why are you not meeting me -- because of a workout?'" The conscious type of sabotage involves others changing their way of thinking due to your new, healthy lifestyle. "When you start taking care of yourself," Bob says, "everyone in your life, to some extent, evaluates, 'Well, how does that affect our relationship?' I recommend getting the people close to you on board." One woman who has been successful with getting others on board was [Pamela](/show/segments/view/sponsor-my-weight-loss/), whose friends, family and coworkers sponsored her weight loss.
