Eric Dane

When Rachael asks this *Grey's Anatomy* doctor what he likes about his real-life wife, Rebecca Gayheart, Eric Dane gives new meaning to his McSteamy nickname. "Well, I've seen her naked," he replies. When Rachael reminds Eric she is hosting a *daytime* TV show, he switches to a more PG answer. "She has an incredible laugh and that's attractive to me," he says, adding that they've been married almost three years. "I'm thankful my wife has put up with me that long," Eric laughs. "I got lucky!" He also got lucky with his role as Dr. Mark Sloan on *Grey's Anatomy,* which started out as a one-time appearance until the producers saw him on the set. "They felt that the character really worked so they invited me back and it changed my life," Eric says. And he's reaching quite an audience -- Rachael says President Clinton told her he watches the show. "It's great and intimidating," Eric admits. "You have to perform if the president is watching." When Rachael lets the audience ask the handsome star some questions, one fan wants to know if he misses actress Kate Walsh. "Absolutely. But we're all very proud of her too and happy for the success that she's achieved on the other show," he says, referring to the spinoff *Private Practice.* "But we miss her. I loved working with her and the show loved that character." To complete the staff, Eric says they have some new doctors this season, but that he hasn't bonded with them quite yet because there's a hazing period. "We just ignore them for a couple of months," he jokes. "They're instructed not to look us in the eye, and then we let 'em in!" Eric says he's now comfortable in his scrubs and talks about "16-hour" days in the O.R., but the actor knows he's not exactly saving lives while shooting those surgery scenes. He jokes about what's really happening in that room: "You see me and I'm doing something -- I'm making like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!"
